Annual Decoy Festival Poster Competition

Each year the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild sponsors a competition to pick a Decoy Festival poster for that year's Core Sound Decy Festvial.  The poster to the left is 2007's winning entry by Walter “Brother” Gaskill. 

The competition gives artists the opportunity to submit the entry used on Decoy Festival posters, advertising flyers, and apparel.  A cash prize of $250.00 is awarded to the winning artist.  The Guild welcomes entries from any artists, both young and old, either from the local area or from distant locations.

The winning poster is chosen by secret ballot in which the general members of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild who attend the regularly scheduled meeting in April vote on their favorite entry.

The rules and an entry form for next year's competition will be available in early 2009 by download here or you may pick up an entry packet at the "H. Curt Salter" Guild Building on Harkers Island Road.
